Eat a healthy diet

Don't smoke 

Smoking increases your risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. 

Protect your eyes from the sun 

Wear sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays.  

Give your eyes a break from screens 

Take breaks every 20 minutes to look away from your computer screen or phone. 

Get regular eye exams 

Schedule regular eye exams with your eye doctor, even if you don't have any problems with your vision.  

Know your family history 

If you have a family history of eye disease, be sure to talk to your eye doctor about your risk factors. 

Practice good hygiene
